Share Day Information
Dear Parents,
One of the many experiences your Kindergartner will have this year is “Share Day.” Please send your child to school with an item that starts with the focus letter of that week (i.e. if the focus letter is “Ll”, you could send in a stuffed lion). After we finish focusing on the letters, Share Day will change to word families and long vowels. Please see the list below for more details.
All children are encouraged to share souvenirs of travel, favorite books, pictures, something from nature, etc. Please NO TOYS! Please send your child’s share item to school in a bag. Your child will give clues to his/her classmates, and they will try to guess your child’s item based off of their clues.
Attached is the “Share Day” schedule, informing you of your child’s “Share Day” and a list of the weekly focus letters. “Share Day” will begin on Monday, September 19th. If school is closed on your child’s day, please feel free to send his/her item in on another day during that week. Share Day is optional! Your child does not have to share each week.
